Founded in 1956 as the Charleston Hebrew Institute in downtown Charleston, adjacent to Brith Sholom Beth Israel, Addlestone Hebrew Academy has been located on the Jewish Community Center campus west of the Ashley since 1987. Teaching students from preschool through eighth grade with a dual-curriculum in secular and Jewish studies, AHA moved into a new nearby school building in 2015.
