Morris Patla

444 King Street

In 1910, the Patla family—Morris, Celia, and Nathan—lived here, above the Morris Patla Furniture store. Frequently, directories specified that it sold antique furniture, and the tradition followed in the family with Morris and Celia’s son, Jack Patla (1903-1989), who became one of the King Street’s most respected antiques dealers. A store still carries his name, if not his ownership.
